Thankful for the Rain!

I haven't seen a April Shower like this in a long time. We have had two days of rain. The pasture is that beautiful color green that makes you feel the spring season is starting off well. I put a hold on my solar project as the area I want to put our solar panels is quite muddy right now. This allowed us to get our fences mended that needed mending. Now our cows can have more room than they have had, but yet not more than I want them to have. They had found their way to the neighbors pasture a couple of times. I am also thankful for the rain because it gives some extra time to rest. I tend to put more on my plate than I can handle and then get frustrated when I do not get it all accomplished. The rain gives me that chance to take a step back and plan and prepare for those projects and decide what actually needs to be done. Another reason I am thankful for the rain is this will help keep the fire dander a bit lower. In the last couple of weeks there have been so many grass fires in the area. We are fortunate that we have some very dedicated volunteer fire crews and local farmers willing to get in the mix; to knock the fires down before they get to any homes. It is fun seeing communities work together. Now that the rain is taking a break we will get back at it soon. See what we can get accomplished.
